Two products, each with a web app and a mobile app — four apps shipped by a small team. My first job, and the one where the boundary between front end and back end turned out to be softer than I expected.
The context
Four apps, small team
Two products, each needing a web app and a mobile app. In a team that size nobody stays neatly inside a job title — the work is whatever the product needs next.
The stack
Crossing the line, carefully
The front ends were mine: both web apps in React and TypeScript, both mobile apps in React Native, interfaces worked out with UI/UX in Figma. On the other side I contributed to the new Python and Django backend alongside the backend team — endpoint work, PostgreSQL queries, data through Django Admin. Their responsibility, my education.
The takeaway
Where full-stack started
Understanding both sides of the API changed how I write the client side — what to ask the server for, what to keep, what to never duplicate. That habit started here and never left.
